What PuntBuddies is

PuntBuddies is a record-keeping tool for groups of friends who take turns placing bets on their own betting accounts. It records whose turn it is, the bets members enter, results, a penalty pot and season standings.

PuntBuddies does not place bets, take or hold money, pay out winnings, give betting advice or promote bookmakers or bonus bets. Any money in a syndicate's "pot" is a record the members keep; PuntBuddies never holds it.

Who can use it

  • You must be 18 or over. You confirm this when you finish your profile and when you join a syndicate.
  • You're responsible for following the rules of your own betting accounts and the law where you live.
  • Only upload screenshots you're entitled to share with your syndicate.

Syndicates

  • Anyone can create up to five syndicates. The creator is the owner and can invite and remove members, change settings and delete the syndicate.
  • Records are only as accurate as what members enter or confirm. Check drafts before confirming them.
  • We can suspend a syndicate or account that's being misused, for example for abuse, spam or content that isn't a betting record.

Paying for AI

  • AI features (reading slip screenshots, checking results, looking up kick-off times and wrap-up commentary) cost NZ$49 a year or NZ$5 a month per syndicate, including 15% GST. The syndicate's owner pays, through Stripe, and gets a GST invoice. A paid syndicate gets up to 150 AI calls a month.
  • Free trial: each person can try AI once, on one syndicate they own, with 75 AI credits over 30 days and no card. Each AI call uses a credit, result checks and kick-off lookups included. The trial ends when the credits or the 30 days run out, when the syndicate starts paying (unused credits don't carry over) or when ownership changes. A syndicate can only ever have one trial.
  • Cancelling: the owner can cancel at any time from Billing on the Syndicate screen. AI stays on until the end of the period already paid for, then stops. Switching between monthly and yearly is charged or credited pro rata by Stripe.
  • Refunds: there are no refunds for a change of mind, or for unused time when an owner cancels or deletes a syndicate. This doesn't affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act. If we suspend a syndicate or close the service, we refund the unused time pro rata.
  • Shared capacity: AI shares one monthly capacity across PuntBuddies. If it's ever reached, AI pauses until the 1st of the next month and bets are entered by hand. Paid syndicates are the last to pause.
  • The owner has to cancel billing before handing the syndicate to someone else; the new owner can start their own once it ends.

The service

PuntBuddies is provided as is, without guarantees that it will always be available or error free. Keep your own copy of anything important; owners can export a syndicate's bets as CSV at any time.

Leaving

You can leave a syndicate or delete your account whenever you like from your account page. See the privacy policy for what happens to your data.
